EasyJtag NAND iConfig Apple NAND device manual

1. Theory: The most convenient way to replace a NAND memory chips in Apple devices is to replace them and then restore it using iTunes. The use of official software allows you to avoid unnecessary errors and install the original firmware in the repaired device.

The only problem in this case is copying the serial data necessary for further activation and use of the device. To successfully copy and write serial data, you must remember the following features:

1) Each generation of devices has a clear list of acceptable for use of memory cards. Before selecting a card, you must make sure that it is suitable for this device.

2) Each generation of devices for each model of memory card has a unique unit for storing serial information. Thus, it is possible to copy a block with serial information only onto a card of exactly the same model.

3) Devices are separated by bit depending on the generation:

a) Devices x32: - iPad2 - iPad3 - iPad4 - iPhone4s - iPhone5 - iPhone5c - mini1

b) x64 devices: - iPad5 - iPad6 - iPadAir - iPadAir2 - iPhone5s - iPhone6 - iPhone6P - mini2 - mini3 - mini4

4) Devices have a different information storage structure. Thus, when you move a card from one device to another, you may need to preformat it. You can format the card using iTunes, it is enough to completely erase it and restore it using iTunes. Also, this action may be needed when using a new (clean) card. 5) When restoring a device using iTunes, autorotation information is copied to iOS, where it is stored in encrypted form and from where it will be read the next time you use iTunes. Thus, if you need to change autorotation information,   It is necessary not only to change it in the autorotation block, but also to remove it from the OS. The easiest way to do this is to completely erase the memory.

6) In some cases, when replacing a memory card, the device model should be changed to according to the model range of Apple. Sometimes this leads to errors when restoring via iTunes.

2. Algorithm 1) Remove the memory card from the device and read the autorotation information from it. Or get information in any other way. 2) Install a new memory card into the device and format it (restore) it using iTunes, erasing it beforehand. 3) Remove the memory card and write autorotation information into it. Do not forget to delete the OS data. 4) Restore the device using iTunes.

3. Interface To work with Apple autorotation information (hereinafter iConfig) in EasyJtag Classic software Suite created a separate tab. To select it, go to the NAND tab of the toolbar, and then select the iConfig tab.

The working area can be divided into 4 parts: 1) NAND General - the global panel for all NAND tabs, allows you to identify the memory card, as well as adjust the frequency and voltage. Error management options do not affect the work with iConfig. 2) iConfig display and configuration area. Apple's autorotation information for this card or settings file is displayed in this area. Please note that identification does not change the information in these fields. The information entered in these fields will be used for recording and will replace the information in the iConfig of the memory card. If you do not want to change the values in any field, just leave it blank.     It should also be noted that this panel stores all possible options iConfig. As mentioned above, the same model of memory card can be used in different devices, and, as a result, it can have different ways of storing iConfig. To view all iConfig, use the Mode drop-down list in this area. Attention! The Mode value of this area only switches information about iConfig, but does not affect its recording in any way. 3) Read and select area iConfig allows you to read data (Read iConfig button) and save areas with them (Read and save iConfig area button). Saving occurs in the Master iConfig file (* .icmf), which is automatically opened by the program after saving. In this area, you can select files with area data (iConfig area) to be recorded, as well as open a previously saved Master iConfig file. 4) Write area iConfig allows you to configure the write mode (Write Mode). Most often, cards have one recording mode for each bit width (x32 or x64). However, sometimes there are cards with two recording modes for each of the digits. To choose the right one, it is enough to read the formatted (restored) card using iTunes and see in which case the more complete data block returned. The Erase data option enables full cleaning (erasing) of the card before recording or storing the iConfig area. Fix iConfig button changes iConf data
